Linda and I have just returned from a 7 day cruise of the
East Carribean. We recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and this is the first extended vacation that we have taken together in many years.
Our cruise included stop overs in
Puerto Rico,
St. Maartens and
St. Thomas. We played the tourist role and came back with hundreds of pictures including lots of native tropical plants; some being from the same families as those we use in our Plant Maintenance accounts.

Botanical Garden, Conguas, Puerto Rico |
We had a tour of the
Botanical Gardens at
Conguas, Puerto Rico, that has only been open for 2 years. Our tour guide was
Magdahlia, one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Botanical Gardens and her passion for the Project resonated clearly. We were very lucky.
I will be using some of the pictures in
blog postings here, so check back often. I will also use some of these pictures in my speaking presentations to the Horticultural Societies and Garden Clubs. Our next speaking engagement is scheduled for
January 25th at the
Guelph Horticultural Society with a brand new topic that I'm developing -
Cultural Practices in Maintaining Your Live Tropical IndoorPlants. I am pretty excited about this!
Right now, our store is getting ready for Christmas with lots of
gift ideas for the Plant People in your life and we are still running the
Insecticide Promotion for you and your plants. Check our web page at
www.plantsforall.goldbook.ca for details and to get your 20% OFF coupon.
