Thursday, November 11, 2010 - Concordia Garden Group Meeting Went Well

Wednesday, November 11, 2010 saw Linda and Brian presenting a talk at the Concordia Garden Group in Kitchener. The meeting was their regular monthly gathering and was held at the Concordia Club ( of Octoberfest fame) on Ottawa Street South.

The topic was Pest Control of Your Houseplants and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). We worked through our approach to controlling insects on your houseplants under the categories of 1)Prevention by way of Inspection and Proper Cultural Practices, 2)Pest Identification and Damage, 3) the IPM - Inspection, Identification, Monitoring, Tolerability, Biological Control, Pest Control and Replacement and 4) Control what Products are available and Application of these products.

The emphasis is on using the least toxic method of control that will do the job.

We sell more houseplant insecticide products in February, than any other month; because the pests have come into your home in the fall to escape the cold and most people don't realize they have a problem until then.

Don't wait. Get them now because you will need them. Go to our webpage at www.plantsforall.goldbook.ca for an exclusive money saving offer on Houseplant Insecticide products that expires December 31, 2010.

Advice on treating your houseplant insect problems is always free.  Contact us by sending a comment to this post or email plantsforall@ody.ca
